What is flow?
Proposed by positive psychologist Mihály Csíkszentmihályi, flow is a mental state in which the person is fully immersed in what she is doing by a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and success in the process of the activity. For me, flow means being present, focused, engaged, alive, authentic.
My name is Kathy. I’m an avid learner, mother of four gorgeous daughters, a wife, novice writer and photographer, and intrepid motorcycle rider who also loves to read and cook. I also just happen to be entering the second half of my life. This blog is about my journey to flow and the quest continues. The ideas I write about are not new, but they reflect my own personal experience of self-discovery as I learn my true passions. The journey to flow is about finding the activities where I experience flow and then building work around that. This blog is my first action toward a life where work and living resonate with purpose, joy, and verve.
My heart’s desire is that this blog will help others find their own flow.
