This is Olivia. She looks like an ordinary cat. And yet…
She is a great teacher. Perhaps even another Yoda.
As I was contemplating what to write, I kept shooing Olivia away – I was busy after all. She would have none of that, thank you very much. When I finally listened to her, this was her message.
- Now; this moment, is all we really ever have. How will you choose to spend it?
- When someone offers you unconditional love… accept and cherish it.
- Cuddling with a loved one is infinitely better than working – or watching TV – or just about anything else that we think we need to do.
- Expressing your love for someone else makes you feel purry inside.
- The only way to experience flow is to be fully present.
It’s so easy to get caught up in the daily drama of life and let our minds go spinning out of control with our endless to-do lists. There is just so much to get done! And yet, if we take just a few minutes to slow down and allow ourselves to truly savor the present moment, we can find that contentment and pleasure that is flow.

I was just writing about the idea of “flow” when I came across your blog. Now I am thinking for all the times I closed the door of my writing room on my kitties because their idea of quiet time is not typing but sitting on the keyboard trying to rub their faces against mine. Thanks for the reminder… I have a cat to go scoop up!

Thank you for commenting. Flow can be so many things. Overall I think it’s contentment with the present moment. At least that’s what my journey to flow is all about. My Olivia has learned to lay across the back of my chair and purr into my neck as I write – a win for both of us! Cheers to you and your kitties as you enjoy those small pleasures that make life lovely.
